Boats have specific audio requirements that automotive gear can't meet. UV exposure, salt spray, sustained humidity, vibration from waves, and constant temperature swings will kill any non-marine speaker, amplifier, or wiring connection within months. Marine-rated gear uses UV-resistant plastic cones, sealed waterproof voice coils, corrosion-resistant grilles and hardware, and amplifiers with conformal-coated PCBs that survive condensation.
