Why we install Metra.
Metra is the install-hardware backbone of nearly every aftermarket head unit retrofit we do. Their vehicle-specific dash kits make a new double-DIN or 9-inch floating-display radio sit flush in the factory dash with no gaps, no rough cuts, and no warranty-voiding modifications. T-harness adapters from Metra and the Axxess sub-brand let the new radio plug into the factory wiring without cutting a single wire, fully reversible, factory warranty stays intact. Steering-wheel-control retention modules, factory-amplifier interface modules, satellite-radio antenna adapters, OEM-camera integration kits, and HDMI-input adapters are all in Metra's catalog. The Axxess line specifically handles the trickier integration jobs on late-model premium-audio vehicles where the factory radio is doing signal processing that has to be cleanly bypassed. We use Metra on essentially every car-stereo install we do, it's not a glamour brand, but the install isn't clean without it.
