Aftermarket HID retrofits into factory halogen reflector housings are not DOT-approved and are sold for off-road or show use only. We will install them on customer request with full disclosure. Yes. HID driving lights mounted to the bumper or roof are excellent for overland and desert use, much higher peak output than even the brightest LED bars. We mount, aim, and wire them through a relay-protected circuit with a labeled cabin switch.

4300K is closest to factory OEM HID white, the most natural daylight look and the brightest perceived output. 5000K is a touch cooler, still very white. 6000K is the classic blue-white, more aesthetic but slightly less actual road brightness. We will help you pick at quote time.

Most halogen housings can physically accept an HID bulb conversion, but some require a wiring relay, anti-flicker module, or housing modification. We confirm fit and required adapters at the quote stage so there are no surprises mid-install.

For street headlight upgrades on a daily driver, LED is usually the smarter pick (easier, more legal-friendly, instant-on, no ballasts). For maximum-output fog or off-road driving lights, HID still has a peak-brightness edge. We will recommend based on your vehicle and use case at quote time.

Quality HID bulbs are rated for 2,000 to 3,000 hours, much longer than halogen. Ballasts last even longer. The most common failure mode is cheap kits, which is why we install only kits with proven ballast quality.
